熒光增白劑研究、華東理工大學(xué)博士生導(dǎo)師沈永嘉教授說，熒光增白劑是一種光學(xué)調(diào)理劑。它的作用原理是將不可見的紫外光轉(zhuǎn)化成肉眼可見的藍(lán)光，與織物本身的黃光相疊加，發(fā)出白光，達(dá)到柔和、賞心悅目的增白效果，早已廣泛應(yīng)用于紡織、造紙、洗滌劑、塑料等眾多領(lǐng)域。沈教授認(rèn)為熒光增白劑是在衣服上涂了一層白色的東西來遮蓋污漬這種說法很可笑，因為熒光增白劑與水一樣，都是透明無色的，根本就無法遮蓋污漬。我們把它添加到洗衣液中是因為它有任何產(chǎn)品都無法替代的色彩調(diào)理功能。
他也提到洗滌劑用熒光增白劑對環(huán)境安全無危害，易降解，不會在生物體內(nèi)蓄積。衣物洗滌劑用熒光增白劑在全球也已使用了40多年，其安全性獲得各國科學(xué)家、部門和機(jī)構(gòu)的廣泛認(rèn)可。
